POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Nursing Instructor

Carl Albert State College has an opening for a Nursing Instructor. This is a full-time position (10 month contract) at the Poteau campus, to begin August 2010.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Instruct nursing students in the classroom and campus laboratory. Supervise and evaluate students in clinical experiences for the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program (RN). Serve as academic advisor and faculty committee member. Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing curriculum. Travel required between Poteau and Sallisaw campuses and clinical sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Registered Nurse with a minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent practice in a clinical setting;
• A Baccalaureate degree in nursing with evidence of progression toward Master’s Degree in nursing, completing six (6) academic credits per calendar year;
• Hold a valid license to practice as a RN in the states of Oklahoma and Arkansas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in nursing with experience in teaching at the Associate Degree level of Nursing Education; Clinical expertise in medical, surgical and geriatric nursing; bi-lingual

SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience. Benefit package offered.
